The 101 on SLS

SLS (aka, sodium lauryl sulphate) is a chemical compound performing as a surfactant (foaming agent) in toothpaste. It is also found as an industrial cleaning product.

Why we exclude from our formulations:

According to many academic studies, harmful effects of SLS include irritation or inflammation of the oral mucosa, ulcerations, and toxic reactions in the oral cavity.

Those with sensitive gums or dry mouths may experience irritation of the oral mucosa when using mouthwash or toothpaste with SLS for oral hygiene.
